I've always enjoyed fun, quality jewelry that makes a
statement and makes you feel good when you wear it. I started making
jewelry for myself more than 7 years ago and when my friends began
asking me if I would make some for them, I decided this might
be a way to fund my bead fetish! It is also my creative outlet. My
work has grown as well. I make many of
the beads myself.
I handcraft my lampwork beads, fused glass
pendants and Precious Metal Clay (PMC)
to create a diverse and vibrant collection of deceivingly
lightweight, funky unique statement pieces. I incorporate dichroic glass in many of my beads to add excitement and color.
I like to take risks with colors. I usually don’t make the same
piece twice. I would get bored too quickly repeating myself (like I
do when telling my kids to do their homework!). Owning a piece of my
work is an “investment in fun!”
I've taken many classes in fused glass, lampworking, PMC,
enameling and
more. I have my own studio (ok-so it's my garage) where I learn to
perfect my techniques. I am certified to teach in PMC. My work has
been for sale in galleries, boutiques and the Columbus Museum of
Art. I have been accepted into many competitive juried art shows
throughout the country.
In my 'spare time', I am VP of First Community Bank, Columbus,
Ohio. I enjoy hiking, bike riding, and watching my 2
children becoming too independent. I get a big kick out of playing the piano.
I hate to weed. I love to
